This Privacy Policy explains how OpenCron ("OpenCron," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the OpenCron website, dashboard, APIs, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using OpenCron, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information needed to operate OpenCron, including:

  • Account details: email address, authentication identifiers, display name, username, profile bio, and notification preferences
  • AI prompts and task configurations: Cron titles, descriptions, prompts, schedules, model settings, advanced execution options, marketplace listings, and related metadata
  • Usage and billing data: subscriptions, wishlists, wallet/credit activity, run history, and in-app notifications or messages you send or receive
  • Technical data: basic device/browser information, IP address, and security logs needed to protect accounts and keep the Service reliable

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and secure your account, and keep you signed in
  • Execute scheduled tasks, store run results, and deliver optional email updates
  • Calculate carbon savings and show cost/credit impacts related to Crowdsourced Cron execution
  • Facilitate the marketplace, including public listings, subscriptions, wishlists, and creator profiles
  • Provide support, prevent abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and improve product reliability

3. Cookies & Tracking

OpenCron only uses Strictly Necessary cookies to maintain your login session and secure your account. We use privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics (Vercel Analytics) to monitor website performance without tracking personal data across the web.

4. Third-Party Services

To run Crons, prompts and search queries may be processed via our AI and Search partners (OpenAI, Tavily). We also use infrastructure and service providers such as Supabase (authentication and database) and email delivery providers to operate the Service. These partners process data only as needed to provide their services to us and are bound by their own privacy and security terms.

Do not submit sensitive personal data in prompts or public marketplace descriptions unless you have a lawful basis to do so and understand that task content may be processed by these providers.

5. Marketplace & Public Content

If you make a Cron public, information such as its title, description, schedule summary, pricing signals, and your public username may be visible to other users. Private prompts remain private to you unless you choose to share them.

6. Data Retention

We retain account, task, subscription, and run data for as long as needed to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request account deletion by contacting us; some records may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, or compliance.

7. Your Choices & Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can update profile and notification preferences in Settings. For other privacy requests, contact support@opencron.ai.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards appropriate to the nature of the Service, including encrypted transport and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

OpenCron is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. International Transfers

OpenCron may process data in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to jurisdictions with different data-protection laws than your own.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of OpenCron after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
